Uchiwa lights by Ingo Maurer at Downtown Gallery

Downtown Gallery had a stunning stand at PAD Paris this year. We loved these amazing Uchiwa lights in bamboo and rice paper for M Design by Ingo Maurer. The lights are very fragile so it is hard to find them in good condition. An aspect of design that we always find inspiring is the use of original and imaginative materials and the creative thought and technical prowess they require. Just look at how the light diffuses out from behind and around the fan shape with their distinctly Eastern feel.
