Having lunch recently on the terrace at the fabled Hotel du Cap Eden Roc I found myself pondering the design of the pool. Here we present 4 photos of the pool so you can see how it has changed over the years. Which do you like best? This first photo, above, dates from 1914 and shows the original design. It was carved out of the natural basalt rock and has always been filled with seawater.
The colored photo was taken by Slim Aarons in 1976. This black and white photo is from 1945. Those are American soldiers.
